Daniel 5

What if God interrupted your life tonight and said, “You have been weighed…and found wanting”?

That is exactly what happened to King Belshazzar.

He was celebrating, surrounded by wealth, power, and people—but he had forgotten one thing: God was watching. Then a hand appeared and wrote a message on the wall. The party stopped. The king was terrified. And Daniel was called to explain a message that would change everything.

Daniel 5 is a warning about pride, arrogance, and the danger of knowing the truth about God but refusing to humble ourselves before Him.

Daniel boldly tells the king: “But you have not humbled yourself, although you knew all this.” — Daniel 5:22

The question for us is uncomfortable but necessary: Are we living humbly before God, or are we ignoring Him while assuming we have plenty of time?

In this sermon, we look at the writing on the wall and what Daniel 5 teaches us about pride, judgment, humility, repentance, and the absolute authority of God.

At Appleton City Fellowship, our desire is to know Jesus, follow Him, make disciples, and raise up people who are ready to fulfill God’s purposeful call on their lives.

Watch, listen, and consider the question Daniel 5 puts before every one of us:

What would God write on your wall?
