THE VAUGHN’S

Appleton City Fellowship

During the first weekend of May, a small group of us from ACF took a trip to Wayumi in Pennsylvania.

Wayumi is a short term missions retreat focusing on the question, “What in the World is God doing?”

On the way, we stopped in Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter.

Youth Group

We started teaching phase 3 of Building on Firm Foundations. The Book of Acts.

We have had a faithful couple step up and be willing to co-lead/teach at youth group!

Linguistics

Geoffery has moved into the morphology section of linguistics. The branch of grammar which studies the structure or forms of words. To this point he has been studying and analyzing the sounds and phonetics of different languages and determining the phonemes and allophones that the languages use. The next step in the process is Orthography (creating an alphabet). The learning curve has be steep but we are grateful for the exposure that he is getting to different languages and the tools needed to create an alphabet! This course has been very humbling for Geoffery but the Lord is faithful to keep him encouraged!

Rachel, Roman and Malachi

While Geoffery is in Linguistics, Rachel and the boys have been keeping busy!

Rachel has been meeting with 2 other moms and their children a couple of times a week for play dates and Bible Study.

Rachel is also starting another Bible Study on Monday evenings with a group of ladies on campus.

Rachel has also been running, cooking and keeping up with the housekeeping! She has been so patient and gracious in serving the Lord in this way.

Tok Pisin

We have been attempting to learn the trade language of Papua New Guinea while in this season. A friend has loaned us a Bible in Pidgin! Our desire is that we would be able to minister and be an encouragement to the National church in PNG as soon as we can in country. Please be praying for our language studies!
