The Practicum Begins!
On September 26th we arrived in Independence, MO with the Linguistics class to begin our 8 week Practicum.
Geoffery has been working so hard up to this point learning the process of analyzing a language from phonemics all the way to syntax! He will learn more about discourse after the Practicum.
He has been meeting with Simon, his language helper, this week. They have been doing rapid word collection, and practicing hearing and communicating in the Wiru language through practical expressions and TPR.
Geoffery and his partner will do a full phonemic write-up and grammar write-up of the Wiru language throughout the duration of the Practicum.
We are in a house with 2 other families so the boys have been very entertained! Roman has been doing great with potty training and Malachi has started walking!
